The Corvette ZR1 is about to be back at your Chevrolet dealer, and it is better than ever.
The ZR1, during its inital production during the 1990s, was hailed as one of the most powerful, stylish, and sleek Corvettes ever. The ZR1 remains the favorite Corvette of many enthusiasts, as well.
For the 2009 model year, the ZR1 Corvette is making a return.
One of the most interesting things about the Corvette ZR1 is that it wasn’t developed by a squad of thousands of engineers. This car was designed by a small team. The team were enthusiastic fans of the Corvette, who worked on the design for several years. After all of that time and hard work, the team’s efforts have finally paid off with the release of the 2009 Corvette ZR1.
Not only is the ZR1 coming back, it’s coming back with a vengeance. The new Corvette ZR1 sets a much higher benchmark when it comes to Corvette performance. It features a 6.2 liter V8 engine with an Eaton TVS Supercharger, as well as intercooler. The 638 horsepower LS9 supercharged engine produces 604 lb.-ft of torque. On the test track, the new ZR1 reached speeds in excess of 200 miles per hour.
The ZR1 isn’t just about power and performance, however. The 2009 Corvette ZR1 has plenty of style, too. It has a front air splitter, carbon fiber roof, domed hood, and dual cove front fenders. It even has a window to the supercharger in the hood. It also features 19 inch front wheels, and 20 inch rear wheels.
Inside the Corvette ZR1, you’ll find the latest in technology and style, too. There is a boost gauge in cluster, and there’s also a Heads-Up Display included. The 4LZ package includes a custom leather-wrapped interior.
