Mercedes-Benz has been known as one of the best luxury brands on the market for decades. The word “Benz” is synonymous with “status symbol” and “luxury.” But it’s always good when the German automaker earns official recognition as such.
That’s what happened last month when the Kelley Blue Book Brand Image Awards committee gave Mercedes-Benz the award for Best Overall Prestige Brand. It happened at the New York International Auto Show, one of the premier annual events that feature some of the best and newest vehicles on the market.
One of the best things about the award is that consumer opinions determine the winner. Brand Watch, a group that tracks online brand perception and consumer reports, surveyed more than 12,000 people in the market for a new vehicle and found that the overwhelming majority of them looked at Mercedes-Benz as the most prestigious.
Mercedes also won other awards during the ceremony, including Best Exterior Design, Luxury SUV and Best Interior Design, Sports Car/ Convertible.
