An inside source stated the new generation of Nissan Titans will have Chrysler’s 5.7 liter V8 Hemi engine. According to the article, this should come as no surprise since Chrysler is building the new half-ton truck. The new Titan is based on the newest Dodge Ram 1500 and production is taking place at the automaker’s plant in Mexico.
The newest Hemi engine has a whopping 380 horsepower. It also has other improvements over previous models, including variable valve timing and a 10 percent increase in torque. It’s also four percent more efficient than older Hemi engines, making it an ideal choice for these Nissan trucks. With this and other similar engines on the market, it’s going to be a long time before the V8 goes away.
